new clients. In addition to having customers complete a detailed
questionnaire, Robin ensures personalized service and client
satisfaction by cutting hair so it suits the client’s face.
Using many self-taught techniques, layers are cut with the
natural fall of the hair and hair is shaped working with, rather
than against, natural gravity.
Professional
Qualifications
Since the 1970’s, Robin Barker has
been a major demonstrator and educator in the field of hair
design. A Master Hairstylist, his professional affiliations
include serving as President of the Guild of Hair Design,
membership in Intercoiffure and Chairperson of the Provincial
Government Advisory Committee. He has also received prestigious
awards including The Gus Caruso, a Contessa and an Imagine
Award. Moreover, Robin has been recognized for his numerous,
charitable efforts.
With over 30 years of television
experience, Robin Barker is known as “The King of Makeovers”. He
has served as the Official Hairdresser of the Miss Canada
Pageant as well as the Children’s Telethon. In addition to
television, Robin has been a hairstylist to countless fashion
designers, both past and present, including Edith Head, Pierre
Cardin, Marilyn Brooks, Wayne Clark, Pat McDonagh, Annie
Thompson and Ula Zukowska. Desired by many in the industry,
Robin has also served as hairstylist for the Fashion Designer’s
Association of Canada. His work has been featured in
industry-recognized fashion and trade magazines; including
Vogue.
Leading Educator
A leading
Canadian hair designer, Robin Barker continues to share his
years of hair shaping and styling techniques with interested
stylists by operating the Hairforce Advanced Academy. A Master
Hairstylist, Robin teaches students live at hair-brain.com and
in person during Sunday styling seminars and two day workshops.
Sessions include morning demonstrations followed by afternoon,
hands-on experiences. For a more intimate setting, Robin is able
to come to your salon where stylists can seeing these master
techniques in their own environment.
